Elise Jokell’s background is in drawing and sculpture, and she brings her influences into her photography not with a flourish, but with storytelling. She studied art in Charlotte, Boston, and Florence, Italy, and then graduated from the New York Institute of Photography.
“I am always learning, and open and ready to explore new ways to express the individual nature of my subjects. My goal is to capture the truth in my images, with an artistic eye, whatever form they may take.”

Although Andy Thomas has been passionate about being an artist since his childhood, it was just recently that this native Charlottean began pursuing a career in art. In fact, it wasn’t until 2017 that he began sharing his art with the rest of the world.
Andy started out drawing cartoon characters and the images he saw in his comic books. He always thought of himself as more of an illustrator than a painter. He continued to develop his skills in high school and then decided to go to UNC Charlotte and focus on Illustration, Graphic Design and Art History.

Ric Erkes’ beautiful vases and wooden bowls are available now at Coffey & Thompson Art Gallery, Frame & Design located in the Historic South End District in Charlotte. He is a retired Air Force Fighter Pilot, who currently teaches at the John C. Campbell Folk School, teaching students how to turn wood with a lathe. He enjoys working with the native trees of North Carolina by expressively turning them into art sculptures.

After a couple years and getting married, he and his wife relocated to Charlotte, NC where he began teaching art at a public school and obtained his teaching credentials at University of North Carolina-Charlotte.

He and his wife Connie have been active in the arts for over 40 years. They have two children, Andrew and Anna, the latter following in her father’s footsteps in the arts. Stephen’s love of nature is reflected in his beautiful garden at his home, where some of the flora are subjects of his artwork.
